Timing is Everything
I take the batteries out of this clock because the ticking really bothers me when I'm doing something quiet, like homework. It remains motionless for weeks at time. Eventually I'll put the batteries back in and see how long I can make it before the ticking pisses me off.

Place of Rest
I love my bedroom. It is a place of calm and rest. It is a place of comfort and self expression. Lots of self expression. Occasionally, it is even a place of art (though more often that is Mother Nature as a whole). At any rate, I like home and I like my room.

Momentous
- The semester ends in less than seven (7) weeks. That makes me so happy.
- This is my 183rd blog post. That means that I have officially blogged 50% of one year. Every single day. Be proud.
- I can't think of anything else, but since odd numbers are more aesthetically pleasing I needed a third bullet point. :)

Filter Effects
I got a little shutter happy today. I was having a fun time trying out the sepia/black-and-white thing again. I'm particularly fond of the mouse trap one. Haha. In other news, that cactus from two days ago (Sunday the 14th)? Yeah, the wind blew a big chunk of it over. The insides are kind of neat though! And I found a little bird egg that had fallen onto our brick patio. I was sad for a minute or two. Then I got over it.

Unravelling
The growth of desert plants is so much more interesting than other plants. Well, to me at least. I love watching big century plants and other agave-style plants (like this one) grow and how every year, new "leaves" unravel from the center. I especially love when plants, like this one, have spikes on them - all of the leaves have cool wavy grooves in them from where spikes from other leaves were pressing into them before they unfurled from the center of the plant. The perfectness of nature is really quite astounding - the way it all works both together, and within itself.
