Oh-Debt
My dad is taking care of a house down the street. The couple who live there have some really fascinating little plants. Most of them are actually kind of weird, and the lighting wasn't very great so I didn't photograph anything too outlandish. My favorite plant she has is the cactus I photographed. It doesn't look that special, but my dad doesn't even know its name, so it's obviously a little bit off the beaten path. Anyway, enjoy these shots, courtesy of the Odette family.

Creation
Nature still boggles my mind. The intricacies of nature and how everything fits together is something that I cannot comprehend creating, but I am so glad that someone put it all together. Thank you, God, for this fantastic earth that I am blessed to enjoy. Seriously.

Orange You Glad?
We have this fun little cactus that blooms pretty regularly during the summer. Well, today was kind of amazing. It has never been this covered in flowers. So cool, right? After admiring the flowers, I proceeded to the luau at the Collett's home where I was able to capture some people. Bless Tanner, but he was not interested in having his photo taken that second time. Haha.

Ugly Duckling
I've said it before, but I'll say it again: The desert is a wonderful place. From some of the strangest and often times ugly plants stem (literally) some really astounding things. Nature never ceases to amaze me with the things it produces, especially in an area with about 12 inches of rainfall annually. Cactus flowers are so unique and interesting, with there zillions of little stamens and et cetera. I love them. I love the desert. I love the earth.

Help!
I need somebody, help! Not just anybody...
Here's why:
Here's why:
- I have no idea what I should photograph. I'm tired of these crazy macro shots of flowers. Any suggestions?
- No one is commenting and it kind of makes me sad. Evidently I am just as dependent on the feedback of others as I had thought. Oops.
- I like bullet points but rarely get to use them.

Desert Delights
These are from the back yard. Apparently, that really nifty pink/purple flower is on a neat little cactus called an Easter cactus, featured behind the flower in photo 1. Mom taught me that one! My parents are never at a loss when it comes to plants, which is helpful, because the desert plants are all looking beautiful right now, which is kind of a nice compensation considering the winter flowers are on their way out. I'll miss the sweet peas, snap dragons, venidium, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Macki came to visit. A woman from the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum came to my optical science class to talk to us about animal vision [which is freaking cool, by the way]. Well, I told Mac all about it, and since I had never been to the Desert Museum we decided to go! These are the photos from that adventure. It was a fun-filled Saturday!
