Greenery

Apparently this morning was all about the green stuff. All of my pictures are rather green. After all of our rain, things are looking pretty good right now. Not that my dad's plants didn't look good before, but you know what I mean.
That last picture - yeah, I made a kaleidoscope! We learned about mirrors and junk in my optical science class, and so we put the mirrors in this tube, and then the beads are at the end, and they're the color that moves around when you spin the kaleidoscope. Apparently my tuition money did pay for something I can use! Yay!

Slip and Slide

Yesterday's weather was bizarre, but today's was downright pleasant! Never above 60 degrees, lots of gray clouds, and wet ground. I love it. I wore my big coat and my new scarf. It was a good day.

Lighting Up

We have these neat light fixtures over the sink. I love them.

Professional

There is a big meteorite exhibition coming up in my department. We've borrowed a bunch of meteorite samples from various places, and I am in charge of photographing them in their original packaging, and then out of their packaging. This way, we know where they belong, but we also have studio shots if we ever make a book or calendar out of them. And I get credit for the photographs because I'm the one that's been taking them! How neat! It's really great experience if I do choose to go into photography as a career.

I'm using this beautiful Canon Rebel DSLR with a fancy macro lens. Well, I was done shooting, so I decided to get a little artsy. I loaded all of the pictures onto the computer, and when the woman in charge of the exhibit saw them (I had intended on emailing them to myself and then delete them), she loved them! Haha. It was fun to use big flashes and lights. It's been really excellent experience.

Shining Through

I held up my awesome new painting to the evening light coming through my window. It is so awesome. Much cooler than the time I used my desk lamp on my Converse painting (though that one was really excellent too, see here). I am loving this painting. I seriously want to get more into art, and specifically painting.

Let Your Light Shine

I got a new desk lamp from Target. It's simple - white cylindrical shade, slim and discreet silver stem and base, fun chain switch to turn it on and off. It's perfect. I'm at the stage in photography where little details that I used to not notice really really bother me. Like my reflection in the ball at the end of the chain. I. Hate. That. I used to love stuff like that. Now, I'm trying to display personality without actually being present in the photograph. I'm still working on that skill.

What To Do...

I took my final in my 9 AM class last week, so I didn't have class until 12 today. It was awesome. This is what I saw while I loafed around the house.

Here's Gary! I still laugh when I see him. I think he's 24 days old... but I might be off by a week. I can't remember, but he's still got plenty of little grass sprouts coming up!

Paint

So there I am, doing my homework at my desk right? Well, I look up at my beautiful custom painting of my converse (by the lovely Kendle Farr). I take it off the wall to look at it more closely. Well, my halogen desk light was on, and it was coming through the painting all types of awesome! You can't really tell in this picture, but it made me really happy. And was a really nice distraction from all of my studying.

Love Struck

I almost fell over when I saw this. No photograph could ever do it justice (especially not my crappy phone). It is the neatest little tunnel of trees in one of the really old parts of campus. And I even got to walk under it twice, since I was delivering a package and had to go back the way I came. I wish y'all could see it in person. You can't fully appreciate it otherwise. I love shtuff like this.

Hard at Work

The shadows were being awesome today at work. Sadly that is about the only cool thing at work. Ever.

Light at the End of the Tunnel

AME Building (Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering). Where I have my English class. Kind of weird that it's in a science building, but it's still neat.

Back to the Grind

This whole, work-and-school thing is kind of a drag. Ugh. This was all I could muster as I realized that I didn't have any new material like I did in Utah.

Friday, October 9, 2009

So, we went on that amazing trip to Utah, right? Well here I am to catch up on the days we were gone!

I got a few that morning before I left for school at Salt Lake.

Hello, Las Vegas

Hello, Salt Lake

And a Sky Mall, because they're always funny!

That Time Already?

Can you believe it's October? I sure can't. But at least that means cooler weather! These are today's photos. It might be a trick to get a picture on here every single day! Haha

Here We Are...

I'm a pretend artist. I really like to think that I'm a good photographer. My bud Kendle thought that I should make a blog of some of my stuff, and here we are! Here are some favorites:
