New Material

I'm taking care of the Farr's home right now while they're on vacation. I went over to take care of the plants and maybe test out their new pool. I couldn't resist the opportunity to take some photos in a new environment. I think the tree house is my favorite. Also, I don't generally have my camera in the car, and I had been envisioning some self portraits while driving... which may or may not be a serious faux pas while driving, but I was focused on the road while I snapped photos, so I figure its kosher.

Easter

We woke up to quite a bit of snow on Easter morning! Let me say in my defense, that I have only woken up to snow on the ground a couple of times in my life (I can actually only think of one...). I was really excited. No one else was. Everyone took a trip outside with me though to play in it and see how pretty it was. It totally melted by the end of the day, which was actually a really wonderful compromise between the snow and the... not snow.
Jason and Laurel were super nice and gave us little chocolate bunnies and let us enjoy Easter with them and their family. It was a fun day. :)

Running Wild

I went for a run today. I ran two miles straight, and am very impressed with myself. You're thinking, "that's really not very far..." Well, considering in the past three or four weeks I've easily doubled the distance I can run, I'd say that's pretty good! I'm prepping for the Pat Tillman Run at the end of April. Well, at least I hope it's at the end of April. At any rate, it's 4.2 miles, and I'd really like to run the whole thing. No stopping. How cool, right? Anyway, after my run I flopped down in the nice, cool grass to take a quick breather. It was heaven. And, the macro on my camera is better than I thought, because I was definitely not going for the focus on the grass blades but was pleasantly surprised! Nice work, camera! So nice I want it to be gigantic.

Dew It Up

My mom bought this awesome lily plant for her friend at work who had a birthday this week. Well, I had to capture it's excellence this morning. The indoor shots were kinda tough (lighting is difficult before the sun comes up!). The outdoor shots were really fun, and later when the sun was coming in nicely through our east-facing windows. That low-angle lighting makes for great stuff.

And I've tried a few times and haven't quite gotten it, but the grass with all of those little tiny drops of dew on them look so awesome. This was the best I could do, but you really have to experience that one yourself to get the full effect of awesomeness as the sun reflects off of the little sea of dew. Regardless, this morning was quite beautiful, to say the least.

Can It Be?

It's Christmas time. I can't even believe it (even though it's actually the day before Thanksgiving, we're practically there. Haha). My mom has been working on these nifty poinsettia centerpieces for some Relief Society thing, so I thought I might try to capture some Christmas spirited things to get in the mood!

On a completely unrelated note, I got this awesome shirt at Target the other day. It's neat. And artistic, so I guess it works. Haha!

On another completely random note, here is Gary, my little grass haired Chia-thing. Kendle and I got some and we happened to start ours on the same exact day. Her's is named Larry. They're buds - Larry and Gary! I'll post once he gets some real hair - for now it's just those little white fuzzy things.

Fresh Starts

I won't even lie... I think the morning is the best time of the day for picture taking. The light is always better. Maybe it's because my backyard faces east. Very possible... Anyway, got these this morning before running off to school.

Fall

In lieu of the neat fall colors that Arizona doesn't have, I took a picture of my tasty grapes that are kind of fall-colored. Oh, and it's that time of year again to plant winter grass. It's sprouting. See Kelsey, I told you it's time to rip out the summer flowers flowers and reseed the grass!
