Walls
I have really fun things on each of the four walls in my room. I've actually showcased all but one, I think, which you can see {here}. I can't quite decide which wall is my favorite because they each have something specific to them that I freaking love, but this wall was feeling good at this particular moment.

My Life's Calling? Probably Not...
I woke up today with a ton of thoughts on what to paint. I sketched a Converse and it was terrible. I finally thought up books, and went to town! And I knew that it was going to be way easier than Converse, and that would be better for a novice of a painter. I was really happy until I painted the gray one on here. I can't decide if I should just keep trying to touch it up, or if I should paint over it altogether. I'm going to find a way to put a quote about books at the top too. I do like it, for the most part. It was more fun to paint than my first painting, so that's good.

Take Two
I bought another canvas today (they're still 50% off!) and a tube of white paint. I'm thinking of trying my hand at Converse, but I feel really unoriginal since Kendle painted me that amazing one that now hangs above my desk (see here if you don't recall). The shoe pictures are a few possibilities.
I really enjoyed the painting I did last time, so I'm looking forward to something a little more sophisticated. And I'm thinking about changing up the little one I just did last week. Haha. We'll see how this goes!

An Artist is Born
So I painted a picture! The sketch that I wanted to recreate is there (and much better looking than the end result... but that's okay) so you can see how things transferred from paper to canvas. I had a really great time painting and I really want to try it again.

Thanks, Posner
I went to Posner's Art Supply today. It's this awesome little "family owned" art store that goes way back. How far back, I don't really know... but at least the 70s or so, if not longer. But anyway, they have great stuff that's pretty inexpensive. I went in there today and bought a thin canvas, a brush, and a little thing of black acrylic paint. I have an idea in mind, and since I don't have school this week, it's the perfect opportunity to give it a shot! Stay tuned to see the results.

Here's Gary! How they grow up so fast, don't they? I've lost track of how old he is, but he sure has turned out to be a fun little friend.

Shining Through
I held up my awesome new painting to the evening light coming through my window. It is so awesome. Much cooler than the time I used my desk lamp on my Converse painting (though that one was really excellent too, see here). I am loving this painting. I seriously want to get more into art, and specifically painting.

Closing Time
I took a walk to get out of the house. I had taken a nap and was in that post-nap groggy phase, so I needed something to wake back up. I figured the camera was a nice companion for my trip around the block. Sunsets are frustrating to capture, but I did what I could.

Also, Kendle sure did a great job on another painting I had her do! It's amazing! :)

Paint
So there I am, doing my homework at my desk right? Well, I look up at my beautiful custom painting of my converse (by the lovely Kendle Farr). I take it off the wall to look at it more closely. Well, my halogen desk light was on, and it was coming through the painting all types of awesome! You can't really tell in this picture, but it made me really happy. And was a really nice distraction from all of my studying.
